Erik Fors 2025-11-05 Jag kan ha hittat platsen där Beowulf stupade och där han är begravd.  Beowulf, kung över Götarna, det anglosaxiska eposet om hans liv härrör förmodligen, gissar de som är experter på sådant, runt 500-talet efter år noll, och den nedtecknades i England två hundra år senare. Beowulf is min nama. “Beowulf är mitt namn”. Enligt mig, men vem är jag, betyder inte Beowulf “bivarg”. Nej, förledet “beo-” förekommer ungefär 122 gånger i Beowulftexten om jag inte minns fel, och det betyder lite allt möjligt men det betyder på ett ställe “Ljusdaner”, eller “Beorht-Dena” på fornengelska. Rad 426: “Sålunda, min fråga, oh kung över Ljus-daner, …” “Brego Beorht-Dena biddan wille, …” Beo kommer alltså från det protogermanska ordet *Beorth, motsvarande Bjärt på modern svenska.
